X&O European Trattoria: A Family Owned Restaurant With a Heart

QUINCY, MA- Located in historical Quincy Center, the X&O European Trattoria & Bar combines old world cuisine with traditional American dishes in an authentic European atmosphere of casual ambiance. Owned and operated by the Gregoriades family, the restaurant boasts the feel of the Back Bay, with interior stucco walls, overhead fans, hardwood floors, a brick pizza oven and coffee/espresso bar.

The heart of the X&O is Manos and Mary Gregoriades, a son and mother team who handle everyday operations. Manos is a Stonehill College graduate who has successfully run multiple businesses since 1991. Mary is a Registered Nurse who learned to cook her native Greek cuisine from her mother and grandmother. However, the X&O truly functions as a family operation. The patriarch of the family is Christos, a practicing physician, who stays behind the scenes and contributes his own acute business sense to the operation. Daughter Krysla, an attorney, contributes her expertise as well. Chef Fabio Pagnozzi, trained in Naples and Florence, Italy, brings his extensive experience and sophistication with world class cuisine. A staff of 45 helps the Gregoriades family provide efficient and courteous service.

Food is always a large part of Greek and Italian family gatherings. Mary not only learned many family cooking secrets from her mother and grandmother, but also learned to express her love for her family through food. The name of the restaurant, which appropriately stands for hugs and kisses, reflects a dining experience of not only delectable food, but also of warmth and hospitality.

The X&O cuisine emphasizes authentic European style cooking- all dishes are made to order with the freshest ingredients. The menu is extensive and includes gourmet salads, paninis, pizza, lamb shank, lasagna, veal marsala, pastitsio, moussaka and souvlaki. Although Greek and Italian dishes are the primary focus, X&O offers an extensive variety of all-American favorites. Be sure to save room for dessert, all of which are made on the premises. Baklava, tiramisu, loukoumades, cheese cake and chocolate sponge cake are just a few of the gourmet foods available.

The X&O has a full liquor license and a large selection of draft and bottled beers, wines, and liquors. The X&O also offers a gourmet coffee/espresso bar for cappuccino, espresso hot chocolate and chai.
Keeping on top of entertainment trends, the X&O recently became a part of "8 Minute Dating," which is available every other Tuesday through November 20.

Located in the heart of Quincy Square, 1388 Hancock Street, the X&O is a convenient place to meet friends over a relaxing meal. With a seating capacity of 185, the X&O also accommodates business meetings and functions and is available for catering. All menu items are available for take-out.
